About Cosmos

In 1928, Antonio Mantegazza purchased a rowboat to take passengers across Lake Lugano in Switzerland, sharing stories along the way. His small but growing business later won the rights to a local route for the Swiss national transportation service, so he bought his first motorcoach. This fleet of one grew over the following years as his company, Globus Viaggi, guided tourists from elsewhere in Europe who came to see the marvels of Switzerland. Globus soon expanded its offerings to include tours in Italy, France, England and other European countries.

In 1961, the company introduced Cosmos -- affordable, value-priced tours in Europe for the cost-conscious traveler. The motorcoach tours of Globus and Cosmos were very successful and the company added tour options around the world over the next several decades.

Today, Cosmos and its sister brands operate in more than 32 offices worldwide, carrying more than 500,000 passengers each year!

Escorted Tours

Cosmos offers budget-friendly escorted tours that combine a mix of included excursions to must-see sights with free time to explore on your own. Tour directors and local guides offer travel advice and share insider knowledge that bring the sights and scenes to life. Plus, with hotels, transportation and sightseeing bundled together in one low price, Cosmos travelers enjoy a savings of up to 40% compared to booking a vacation on their own.

Here are a few of the vacation-enhancing features that are included in the price of your Cosmos tour.

Tour Director
Experienced and knowledgeable tour directors will advise you about daily itineraries, help you maximize your free time and introduce you to Cosmos’ local guides in each major city. They take the hassle out of traveling, so you can relax and enjoy new experiences.

Guided Sightseeing
Guided sightseeing reveals the best of the regions explored. See Italy’s amazing art and architecture, take a train through the magnificent Canadian Rockies or explore the mysteries of the Inca Empire in Peru. Enjoy inside visits to famous attractions with knowledgeable Local Guides who share their extensive knowledge about each location’s culture and history.

Transportation
On most tours, the transportation between cities is by private, first-class motorcoach -- most with free WiFi. All motorcoaches have air-conditioning, state-of-the-art sound systems, reclining seats with extra leg room and large windows that offer panoramic views as you travel from one destination to the next.

Meals
Some meals are included to save you time and money, yet Cosmos leaves enough free time to sample local cuisine on your own. Your tour director can also recommend restaurants.

Centrally Located Hotels
Staying at a comfortable, clean and attractive hotel helps you unwind after a day of exploring. Cosmos handpicks value-friendly hotels with quality guestrooms, service and food.
